Two men, two civilizations, colliding. A spymaster and an entrepreneur.
The gun barrel of his father’s pistol pokes into his mouth. His finger is on the trigger when the call comes from a drifting yacht in the Malacca Straits north of Singapore. His grandfather has cut the throats of the sultan and his son, and now is calling to help Cash deal with the deaths of his parents over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Cash vows to find the puppeteer behind the Libyans who planted the bomb. Cash builds a successful business. He sells it to save his marriage. Another family tragedy shatters him.
Out of despair, Cash rebuilds his life. He meets Livi Netanyu, a beautiful Israeli scientist. Cash agrees to save Lone Pine Technologies, the failing nuclear parts manufacturing company of his grandfather’s best friend. Unknown to Cash, he places himself in direct confrontation with General Mahmoud Karazi of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, who is building an industrial espionage network in the US. Cash is stalked by the General’s assassin.
Pierre Maroun, an idealistic Lebanese banker, is building a business empire in the United States. He dreams of exporting US entrepreneurship and technology to build joint ventures between Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Jordan, and Israel. He buys Airparts Corporation and hires Nari Fahmouz as his chief operating officer. He believes that Nari is an Egyptian-American.
But Nari Fahmouz leads a double life. In one life he is chief operating officer of Airparts. He acquires other American companies to build Airparts Corporation for Pierre Maroun.
In his undercover life, Nari is Ghosmani, ‘the Ghostman’, working for General Karazi. As a young man he was assigned to instruct and pay the Libyans who placed the bomb on the Pan Am plane that went down in Lockerbie. He was the General’s top assassin, executing Iranian dissidents in France. Now, twenty-five years later, he runs the general’s operation to set up an industrial espionage network to steal US military and nuclear technology for Teheran. Airparts Corporation provides a perfect cover, and in carefully disguised business transactions with third countries such as Venezuela and France, a vehicle to send technology and parts to Iran. Lone Pine Technologies is a critical acquisition target for Airparts Corporation. Nari will kill to get the company. Cash’s management team of retired special forces is challenged to keep him alive.
In his quest to avenge his parents, Cash believes he may have uncovered significant clues to identify the puppeteer. And he has discovered a negotiation between Israel and Iran that will change the balance of power in the Middle East, bring turmoil to energy markets, and create havoc in American politics.
